They both have licensing agreements now with OpenAI that will enable OpenAI to use their content for training. But this Times lawsuit is really the first lawsuit by a large news publisher, and so it really raises a number of questions. Will we start to see the divergence of strategy by publishers when it comes to generative AI and the use of their content? Could other publishers sue OpenAI and/or other generative AI companies? We’ll see.
